2021 Jeep Compass
2021 Jeep Compass
The Jeep Compass is one of the safest SUV in India. Before the NCAP India conducted the crash test, the EURO NCAP did it. It was ranked 5/5 in the crash test. Sports, Longitude, Limited, Trail hawk, Anniversary edition are some of the variants available for the 2021 Compass. The trail hawk variant is basically an off-road variant. It gets the cool trail rated badge as it performs better in off-roading as well as it performs better in emptying your wallet. The car’s price ranges from 16.99 lakhs to 28 lakhs. The price also depends on which variant you pick. It has a 2.0 MultiJet Turbo engine for diesel and a 1.0 MultiJet Turbo for petrol variant which has a force of 170 HP, putting out a torque of 350 Nm and it gives a fuel efficiency of 4x2 - 17.1 km/Litre. It has a 9 speed automatic gearbox. This car is a ease to drive especially after all the help it offers for the driver such as the hill start assist, the hill descent control and the automatic rain sensing wipers. It also provides a cruise control system. The Compass also consists of an automatic boot system. There is a boot button on the key which you have to press twice to open/close it. Like many other cars the manual boot close button is on the boot door which means small kids can't close it but that's not the case with the Jeep Compass. It has a close button IN the boot. And the automatic close hood is also safe as it has sensors under it which turn on if some object touches the boot. The boot which is the closing process will automatically go up if the sensors detect anything.
For the owners, Jeep has developed an app called Jeep Life which is available on the app store and the play store. On this app you can unlock/lock your vehicle and do more things...
. Anyways, coming back to the topic, this car’s capabilities are mind boggling. The body strength is awesome. You get to see projector headlamps, cool looking rims with arches. If there was a book of legends this car would be on the first page. There are a lot of cars like the Toyota Fortuner in this price segment. Though the Fortuner has much better specifications, the compass can beat it if it wants to.
Now for the interior part, which is the best part. The dashboard has rather a soft touch because of the leather on it. The infotainment screen which is a 25.6 cm Uconnect system with apple car play and android auto, has a chrome touch on the sides. It has a beautiful dual-pane panoramic sunroof. It offers amazing looking ventilated leather seats which as soon as the ambient temperature goes above 26.5° C, the ventilated driver seat turns on automatically. The seats also have 8-Way Power Adjustable Driver’s Seat + 4 Way Power Lumbar System. It has a dual-zone automatic A/C which offers automatic climate control which constantly adjusts the air temperature inside the cabin and creates separate customised environments and provides the perfect temperature needed for all passengers. The A/C vents are in-built in the dash which gives a clean touch to the car and makes it feel premium. It has a wireless phone charger which is an impressive feature. It has a 25.9 cm customizable instrument cluster in which you can select different modes. It has an engine start-stop system, when the engine turns off when not in use and restarts automatically when you push the accelerator, reducing idle time, it also minimizes your fuel consumptions and emissions. This is a good feature as when cars stop for traffic lights, many people don't turn off the engine and it creates a lot of damage to the environment but this feature will reduce it a lot. The car is basically a 4-seater but if there is a small kid, he can sit in the middle seat in the back. But if only two people are sitting in the back, it’s like you're sitting in an Emirates A380 Superjumbo!
Now coming to the most important point, which is safety and security. The Compass comes with over 60 state-of-the-art safety and security features. It has 6 airbags which surround the whole cabin. It also has a modern parking brake which is electric unlike other cars. The brake turns on automatically when you turn off the car but when starting up, you have to press the brake pedal and then turn it off. Though this can be done automatically, you can do it manually as well. The car has all Season tyres which is a helpful feature in safety. The car has an in-built air pressure monitoring system which can help prevent accidents which often occur due to low tyre pressure and bursting of tyres while driving. It consists of a feature called Auto hold which is assisted by EPB. It ensures you don't have to press the brakes repeatedly in slow-moving traffic or traffic signals which ultimately provides a higher degree of convenience and reduces driver fatigue. It consists of Electronic Stability Control (ESC). ESC coordinates Electronic Roll Mitigation, Hill Start Assist, Anti Lock Brake System and all-speed grip control, sending them into action when needed. It has a Remote keyless entry feature with a cool key fob. Although Jeep could add more buttons to the key fob as it looks empty and a bit weird without them, it's still nice to have it. In the interior of the car, the cup holder in which you can hold 2 cups has a partition in the middle which has a small space to keep your key fob as you don't need it. This small detail in the car is very useful as many people who have keyless entry cars often forget where they keep the key fob. There is an unlock/lock button. There is the automatic boot button. And the emergency panic button which after pressing makes your car’s horn go off.
It also has a nice 360 degree Park view rear back-up camera with dynamic grid lines. It's a nice feature to have especially when you have a 25.6 cm screen to look at when backing up instead of just looking out of the window. The metal body of the Compass is strong like a truck's body, especially after seeing a few accidents of the Compass. Here is one listed below. If you look at them, you will get a clear idea of how strong it is.
This crash was when the Compass was stopped at a red light when a Maruti Swift Dzire crashed into the Compass at a speed of 40 Km from the back.
Compass after the crash.
Dzire after the crash.
So after seeing the results you must be sure how rugged and strong the body of the Compass is especially because the dzire in this accident was the old model and it was the model which was made much stronger than the newer dzire models.
very nice blog...... lot of information
